funny what life's distractions can do to you...marriage, two simultaneous job changes, an employment suit, a sick pet...any of those can sidetrack you and having them happen all at once derailed my goals.
now that my life is back to a semi-normal routine, I'm ready to do the damn thing.
I've put in 2 hours of cycling so far this week. I'll do another 30mins tomorrow. tonight I'll add 30-45 mins of chest/arms weight training.

cutting weight update #1
lost this week: 8lbs
so far, so good. spread out over a few days, cutting weight isn't oppressive at all. nutrition has been the hardest part but I've been generally good.
three more days.

cutting weight
so I'm getting marriage this upcoming Saturday and I've decided to cut weight for the occasion. how much weight? well, the more, the better.
I'm using a variation of tried and true tchniques:
1. lots of cardio. no marathon sessions, probably just 1.5 hours/day but heavily bundled up with minimum water intake.
2. limit water intake. the key to cutting weight is to reduce your water volume. it's dangerous: you could have an electrolyte imbalance, dehydrate, etc. but it can be done in measured doses.
3. low carb it. I'm going for under 100 carbs/day. not bad considering that 30 carbs/day is the stated cutting weight goal. but since I'm spreading this out over 5 days I need a bit more sustenance.
4. late night session. I'm saving my shortest but heaviest cardio session for right before I go to bed. that way my body can recuperate itself overnight as well as burn calories.
5. some weights. short but heavy sessions.
